In high school, he was able to grow and learn from his peers who had experiences and perspectives different from his own. National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates hispanic roots, going back to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. Beginning in 1968, America has recognized and celebrated the contributions that Hispanic heritage has had on everyday American culture.
