Send Silence Packing: Inspiring Action for Suicide Prevention Through Education and Advocacy
Bucknell’s “Active Minds” organization introduced a new suicide prevention program called “Behind the Backpacks“. On Monday, November 1st, the organization set up an exhibition featuring personal stories of people who have been lost to suicide and survivors of suicide. The aim of the exhibit was to educate visitors about the impact of suicide and inspire action to prevent suicide through storytelling.
It is our responsibility as members of the Bucknell community to change the culture around mental health and help prevent suicide on campus. Seeking help takes a lot of strength and courage, but it is one of the things you can do today to prevent suicide.
